NO STOLEN CHILDREN ON STOLEN LAND.

This Indigenous Peoples’ Day and beyond, we resist state kidnapping of children as a tool of genocide against Indigenous communities– from Turtle Island to Palestine and across the globe.

In Maryland, a law that was meant to keep birthing people and newborns safe has now been used to create the ultimate parent trap.

The Safe Haven Law promised protection – but Baltimore’s family police punished a mama anyway. 🧵

Rest in power, Assata Shakur. 1947 - 2025. 🖤

We will carry forward her vision, her fight, and her legacy—because, as she reminded us, we have nothing to lose but our chains.

It takes a village to raise a child, NOT a system.

September is “Kinship Care Month,” when the family policing system claims to celebrate kinship & present itself as prioritizing family unity. But let’s be clear: kinship belongs to families, not the state.
movfamilypower.bsky.social
The family policing system doesn't define kinship. We do.

✔️ Kinship is… resourcing families to show up for each other on our own terms.

❌ Kinship is NOT… forced family separation through coercive “kinship” arrangements.

✔️ Kinship is…upholding family integrity and honoring family bonds.

❌ Kinship is NOT…blocking kids from their loved ones because of criminalization and prior system interference.

✔️ Kinship is…providing the time, space, and tools to nourish relationships.

❌ Kinship is NOT…sowing conflict by demanding family members surveil each other.

This only makes it clearer: we’re the ones who keep each other alive.

54 yrs ago, Nixon declared the so-called War on Drugs under the guise of public safety.

We've long known that it has got nothing to do w/ safety, "it has got to do w/ destroying communities & destroying families." - Karen Thompson, @pregnancyjust.bsky.social

The family policing system often operates in two violent extremes against fathers: it either casts fathers as absent and disposable or sees fathers as a threat and incapable of providing care.

This is not an accident. It is intentional. And it is racialized.
movfamilypower.bsky.social
To all the fathers missing their babies: we see you. We mourn with you. We fight alongside you. 💙

This Father’s Day, we honor the love, resistance, and power of fathers—especially Black, Indigenous, and Latine fathers—who have long been criminalized and erased by the family policing system.
