☢️1950年代、南オーストラリア州でイギリスによる核実験が行われ、多くの先住民が被曝し、その土地が汚染された。また、放射性降下物は広範囲に広がり、ティルマン・ラフさんも、子どものころ遠く離れたアデレートでその放射性降下物にさらされ、被曝している。「世界を核の被害から守るために力を合わせる責任がある」と訴える。

【歴史的背景】
中部太平洋に位置するマーシャル諸島では、アメリカによる核実験が1945年から1958年まで67回行われた。12年間のあいだに行われた67回に及ぶ核実験の威力は、広島原爆の1.6倍にあたる原爆を12年間毎日爆発させたのと同等だった。

チェルノブイリ原発から北西40㌔のベラルーシのナローブリア出身。原発惨事により高い放射能汚染の被害を受けた地域だったが、ソ連政府の政策により住民は住み続けた。

1991年「チェルノブイリ法」制定により、避難対象区域に指定された。

ベラルーシは国土の約20%が☢️セシウム、約10%が☢️ストロンチウムによって汚染され、住民移住者は13万7,700人に。今もなお、癌や奇形、死産や死などの健康被害が続いている。
