Nobody “deserves” anything. We get what we get.
But when we work together, we can share and trade to ensure that we all get what we need, and hopefully what we want as well.
Part of growing up is understanding that and appreciating it.

The traditional response to piracy on the high seas is execution. Can an entire regime be treated as pirates?
Perhaps the world’s response to the Barbary Pirates would be useful, although that regime was more interested in ransom than death.
