This project is one of the coolest I have seen trying to recreate the 'CRT feeling'

Without bonding, the air gap scatters the light all over the shop. It's down to the difference in the refractive index between acrylic and air.

Bonding brings the image 'forward' as it's (nearly) one optically contiguous piece because they all have a similar index.

It makes a big difference. 🙂
