The tan parts for lifeboats are obvious and easy. Can’t quite picture using brackets for windows though.

One thought: might this affect its weight? I’m curious how the ship is stable being held only by the star drive section (the saucer section must be super light somehow)

Yep. I’ve a feeling those who insisted it wasn’t was just wishful thinking.
Still I think the design is very interesting considering the limitations of working with LEGO.
