Kingdom Hearts is such a good example of emotion focused storytelling. Everyone on earth understands the feeling conveyed by "I guess my summer vacation is over" and there's so many moments in those games meant to convey that exact same feeling

I know this was never gonna happen since XIII-2 was an asset flip and they probably weren’t gonna try and sell yet ANOTHER FNC game after they were all development nightmares, this is just my very unrealistic ideal of things

I think the story of Noel, Caius, and Yeul would’ve been enough to carry its own completely separate entry in the FNC series of games, and I think my own preferred completely hypothetical version of a sequel would’ve focused more on exploring Gran Pulse a bit away from the small chunk we see in XIII

My hot Final Fantasy take is that XIII-2 is really fucking good, probably my favorite of the XIII games to play, but I also really don’t like it as a sequel to XIII
