さらに、本研究で配列決定に用いた個体については証拠標本を作製し、研究機関に収蔵しています。そのため、将来的な分類学的な改訂が行われたとしても、分類学的な再検討が可能となっています。

最後に、本研究は著名な水生昆虫研究者の皆様との共同研究で実施することができました(共著者欄がすごいことになっています)。サンプリングからシーケンス、データ整理、論文執筆までなかなか大変な道のりでしたが、皆様と一緒に出版までこぎつけられたことに厚く御礼申し上げます。

日本において、水生甲虫や水生カメムシはこれまであまり参照配列の登録が進んでおらず、またどの種で参照配列が決定されているかが不透明でした。また、COIと比べてよりPCRが成功しやすい16S rRNAを用いています。本研究成果は、環境DNAメタバーコーディングなどに有用な参照DNA配列となります。

(論文出版)環境DNA分析などに利用可能な、日本産水生甲虫及び水生カメムシの16S rRNA領域の参照DNA配列を整備しました。日本産水生甲虫では種・亜種レベルで35.5%、属レベルで72.2%、日本産水生カメムシでは種・亜種レベルで45.3%、属レベルで70.2%をカバーしています。

中国からのガロアムシ目の新属新種Grylloprimevala jilinaの記載。Zhou et al. 2023 (英語論文、OA) onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/... 北海道のArctigalloisiana属の記載の直後に出てたんですね。
(個人的感想)この写真、本当に成虫…？成虫にしてはやけに小さいし交尾器の記載もないのが不思議です。分子系統樹もこの個体以外に中国や韓国の既知種が含まれていないですし、、、ううーーーん。

政府主導の保全計画におけるゲノミクス研究のコストとベネフィット。Doyle et al. 2025 (英語論文、OA) doi.org/10.1093/aob/... オーストラリアのニューサウスウェールズ政府による保全プログラムでは、保全ゲノミクス研究の費用は対象種の保全予算全体の10％未満のようです。移植または生息域外保全のための採集の際に遺伝情報を利用するいう回答が多かったようです。しかし、保全ゲノミクス研究が実施されたのは全対象種のうち1/4程度で、また遺伝情報に関する知識の共有も今後の課題とのことでした。
