I feel as if the stupidity is intentional. It seems like pushing the boundaries of ridiculousness is what they really love. Like, "Let's see what else we can say and see who the true loyal morons are". Hitler and Mussolini didn't have social media as a tool. These weirdos do and it seems effective.
