Oh absolutely. The house-style I use on my channel and its predecessor is a testament to that! If I had to pick four channels that influenced me in general, it’s a varied spread of Wisecrack, Patrick H Willems, Girlfriend Reviews, and Lindsey Ellis!

It’s remarkable to realize Diane Keaton created a signature look and sensibility back in the 1970s and for about half a century continued to be a creative inspiration for how to be yourself in a world that tries so hard to put you in a box. Well done, Diane Keaton. RIP.

I’ve had this thought a million times watching rom coms and mid budget movies from the 60s through the early 2000s. It’s night and day what a little script polishing, the intentional lighting that shooting on film demands, etc can do!

The new Nicole Kidman AMC bumper is so edited down that it borders on nonsensical and serves no purpose.

That said, there is a silver lining.

PSA to any Adobe Premiere Pro users that want to use Film Impact stuff in videos: Don't export using Media Encoder. It'll force every transition/effect to come up with the Film Impact watermark.

One interesting thing to do here is to compare the sentiment of the wealthiest Americans (the gray line below) with what stocks are doing (in white).

Meanwhile, middle- and lower-income sentiment (in pink and blue) has stayed stuck in the doldrums even as equities surge to records

Charts like these go some way towards explaining why the economy has kept chugging along even while sentiment indicators are — on aggregate — low. The wealthy cohort with the most spending power
still seems to be feeling pretty fine and largely continues to buy things, which has helped keep the American economy afloat.
