The Sound of Music is very special to me. My grandma (RIP) and I watched it whenever it was broadcast. Later, I played in the pit orchestra for a production of it. That was really moving for me as an violinist because the orchestra keeps playing when Georg falters. So I’ll try to keep doing that.

Does anybody cook with beef tongue? I probably had it when I was a child and we were poor but I don’t remember eating it. I see recipes sometimes but honestly the look of it, the little tongue papillae and just the whole shucking process you have to go through with the skin. Doesn’t seem appealing.

I had a good Mormon upbringing and I had to memorize this one. (Plus a verse in the Book of Mormon that makes the same point.) Apparently most of them just did it for the grade 🤷‍♂️
