Say what you will about the AV presentation of some of these Vestron releases, this one looks about as good as it possibly could and sounds fine. I've always appreciated how many special features these releases get too and this is no exception! A HUGE upgrade over the DVD but I'd kill for a 4k 🕵🏻

4/5. Excellent Lovecraft adaptation & a nice creepy little movie in its own right. Well shot & directed, plenty of suspense, some nudity & some good gore too. The scene set in what might be the nastiest hotel on earth is VERY tense & one of my all-time favorites!! Definitely recommended.

It's nuts that he had such an impact on horror in three decades straight. Three genre defining movies with Last House, Nightmare & Scream. Even his less good stuff was interesting 👌🏻

-Definitely "girlfriend approved"
-Maybe the best looking UHD I've ever seen
-Loaded "special edition" with tons & tons of special features
-I put this up alongside pretty much all the classic Ghibli stuff & Boy & the Heron as "perfect animated films" & I am a Ghibli megafan

5/5. A perfect movie & a modern animated masterpiece. Beautiful, well directed, emotional & powerful story, fantastic English dub from NYAV Post, great music. Think Beauty & the Beast with modern trappings. I legit can't think of a single thing I DIDN'T like about this movie! Highest recommendation

More thoughts!

-UHD looks & sounds stunning & the included BD is absolutely loaded with special features.

-This would make a good double feature with The Void which came out around the same time & features similar dream logic horror & a descent into hell

4.5/5. A beautifully shot metaphorical & literal descent into hell. Also an excellent entry in the Fulci-adjacent "vibes based horror" subgenre (think The Beyond)! Lots of repulsive imagery & gore. Very interesting story that I like the cultural background to fully understand. Definitely recommended

I'm into it! To an extent anyway lol. I've seen some of the imagery which is what sold me on tracking it down in the first place! Also I don't know off the top of my head if I've seen ANY other movies from Turkey. "Cautiously Intrigued" is the mood 😁
