He is brave, selfless, and good. Just good, even after being abandoned. After being alone for so long. After being feared and misjudged by everyone.

He is still Steve, and he's perfect.

Finding El, the scientist's other "monster"

Steve adopting her as his little sister right away.

Rescuing Will and facing the scientist one last time. Steve and El getting closure and a chance to live a normal life, together.

Finding other abandoned projects from the scientist on the way, ones that didn't turn out like Steve, that turned into real monsters when they were abandoned.

Steve repeatedly saving the kids lives and them quickly getting attached to him.

"Please don't! he's my friend!!" She yells and Eddie slowly lets go, realizing she's afraid of them and not the monster.

They talk, Nancy explains what’s happening, and Steve and Robin offer to help, teaming with the kids and their older siblings to find the missing boy.

That girl from band that never talks to anyone. Half the school thinks she's shy, or weird. The other half thinks she must be too cool for school. She's rumored to have been seen walking through Loch Nora, fearless.

Oh, but she looks so afraid now...

But something in his eyes makes Eddie hesitate. This monster... is it a monster?? All he sees is a beautiful man who looks so sad right now, scared but...resigned?

And then Robin shows up.

And then the kids coming back with Eddie, Nancy, and Jon and cornering Steve. Eddie has him pinned against the wall, ready to cut him if he doesn't tell them where Will is.

Cut to Steve in his early twenties, being found by a group of kids in their teenage years who are looking for their missing friend, and think the monster of Loch Nora took him.

They accuse him and yell at him, making Steve scare them away because he's scared himself.

And people fear the mansion he lives in, saying it's cursed, that they see movement in the windows at night, and that you can hear sounds if you get too close. Saying there's a monster there.

Someone once saw the silhouette!

But Steve is faithful to him and waits for him to return for a couple of years, all alone in a huge house, teaching himself how to cook, clean, and talk, barely. Before realizing the scientist is never coming back.

But the scientist gets bored quickly, he doesn't really want to have the responsibility of teaching someone new about the world, so he abandons Steve to pursue his next great thing.
