A one-man mission to rescue the name 'Nigel' (which I've always disliked) from the gutter. Bereft at the state of the world we're handing on to our kids. Sorry kids. Retired. Former IT geek; still dabble. West Country. Not Canadian - just love 'em to bits!

They've turned the Aga off? Sound more like <sniff> Rayburn people.
Wokefinder Corporal at best. Definitely not officer material.
Munich went with open source (Linux and Open Office) some 20 years ago. It was not unsuccessful but ultimately they got lent on by msft and ultimately they caved in.
Time to try again, though. For a while OS was UK gov policy, but they've backslid from that, inevitably.
All too often there are local news stories of dog owners going into tumultuous seas to rescue their foundering pets, only themselves to succumb to the waves.
Almost inevitably the sad coda to the story is 'the dog was later found safe and well'.
... sold at a premium to transport time-critical goods such as medical supplies.
In due course, it's 'All Aboard' for the VIPs and near NY they might just overtake their luggage. On landing, they would be escorted to VIP and given more treats while the luggage is found and reunited with its owners.
I heard that VIPs on Concorde would be invited to arrive early for champagne, canapés, and ego -stroking. Their bags, meanwhile, would be checked in and whisked off to a scheduled jumbo, where they would lumber over the Atlantic in advance of the Concorde.
The luggage space thus vacated would .../1
That reminds me - how's the next season of Severance coming on?
I remember seeing a programme about the Chelsea Pensioners. Until relatively recently only Army and RAF NCOs were allowed in, all to do with swearing to Crown vs Parliament and with 17thC civil war and Navy pitching for wrong side (RAF excused, as fighting was over weekends and they were all away).
All the photos of Lincoln were black and white so this is entirely faithful.
What about the Royal Marines? Formally part of the Royal Navy, but with a ranking system similar to the Army.

Also isn't there (or used to be) something about Army and RAF swearing allegiance to the Crown, while RN (and RM?) swearing to the Board of the Admiralty?
Red trousers and tweed jacket never go out of style.
One of those tricky posh surnames designed to trip you up. Does it start like 'ounce', or as in 'cough', or 'through'. Or one of those 'cholmondely' types, and you actually say Oozed.
I remember going on a lads' Thames boating* holiday as my first 'adult' holiday in 1978, and there was a warehouse by the wharf where we picked the boat up; it was absolutely rammed with these vehicles withdrawn from service.

*of course I fell in. In a filling lock near Reading.
She's right though.

One of them acted inadvertently while trusting professionals to do something they had offered and promised to do on her behalf, while the other conducted the offence seemingly quite gleefully.
Not unfair, though. I'm often disappointing myself, with good cause.
Love this. And here's a simple checklist to accompany it:

I keep a handy ColorNote on my phone of the ECHR main points, to ask people 'Which of these rights do you wish to be denied to you and family?'
Oddly, very few wish to eschew these for themselves; only for 'others'...
@dankaszeta.bsky.social - one more sovereign remedy to add to your list of 'Why the F* Did You Use That?'

Although in this case no tears were shed - except by little Tommy Two-Dads, of course.

Great fleas have little fleas upon their backs to bite 'em,
And little fleas have lesser fleas, and so ad infinitum.
And the great fleas themselves, in turn, have greater fleas to go on;
While these again have greater still, and greater still, and so on

And, as a treat, don't throw away the seeds but separate them from the guggy-bits (technical term), sprinkle with a bit of olive oil and salt, and bake for a bit (another technical term, sorry).
Enjoy.
Only Greens/Lib Dems care enough about keeping these rights to vote to protect them...

...keep showing up and not asking pertinent or critical questions.
Ah the 'Danny-ing Kruger Effect' - where people with low ability in a specific task overestimate their competence.
