Reporting suggests that as many as 41 states and DC stand to lose almost $3bil in funding that was already obligated but not yet liquidated (or reimbursed) as the now-cancelled extensions had allowed final payments to be made through early 2026. On the blog. www.aasa.org/resources/bl...
ESSER Liquidation Update
On 3/28/25, the Department informed SEAs that the Administration has canceled any prior approval for “late liquidation” of remaining funds from a variety of federal pandemic recovery funds.

Don’t flunk the future! The President has signed an order to close the Dept. of Education and has already withheld funding and cut staff – all counter to what the public wants. Urge Congress to support education with the @edfunding toolkit at cef.org/advocacy/

What does IDEA mean for students? ✅ Individualized learning plans ✅ Early intervention ✅ Inclusive classrooms ✅ Protections & advocacy ✅ Pathways to independence #IDEA50
IDEA supports educators, too! The law provides funding for teacher training and professional development, helping schools meet the needs of all learners. #IDEA50 #TeachTheFuture
Special education services rely on IDEA funding—with serious cuts to USED, processing & support from the federal level could slow down, impacting students with disabilities. #IDEA #SpecialEducation
When federal employees are laid off, our schools suffer. From processing funding to providing guidance, the support schools rely on comes to a halt. Our kids deserve stability! #Education #IDEA50
Looking for ways to stay engaged on the important work to fully fund #IDEA, especially this year, when IDEA turns 50?

IDEA isn't just for K-12! It also funds early intervention services for babies and toddlers, giving kids a strong start from birth to age 3. #IDEA50 #EarlyIntervention
Since IDEA passed, graduation rates for students with disabilities have more than doubled! Education transforms lives—and IDEA makes it possible. #IDEA50 #SuccessStory

Heartbreaking to see announcements of major layoffs at most research organizations that have played a vital role in supporting federal statistics for education and developing high-quality evidence about what policies/practices actually work.
