An all-powerful deity causing avoidable harm fails the most basic tests of fairness, empathy, and justice.
By today's standards, Biblical God's biggest failures would be moral arbitrariness, favouritism, and tolerating or even ordering immense suffering. From flooding the world and destroying cities to punishing innocents for the sins of others, the divine actions often fail modern tests of fairness, empathy, and proportionality. Tests of faith that risk lives, unclear or contradictory commands, and laws that tolerate oppression make the moral framework inconsistent and deeply troubling. In short, an all-powerful, supposedly benevolent deity who allows or causes avoidable suffering and injustice would be judged as failing the most basic ethical standards we now hold essential.

The scholarly consensus is that someone named Jesus of Nazareth probably existed, but …

the “Jesus Christ” of Christian theology does not. Biblical Jesus is just an evolved, fantasised, hyperbolised version of that man!

Federal policy will be shifted toward Christian interests under the guise of protecting religious liberty.

Atheism isn’t a religion; it’s freedom FROM religion.

Atheism doesn’t ask for faith, only for evidence.

Atheism trusts human reason over (manmade) divine decree.

A meaningful life without faith appears highly threatening to some theists; hence they like to call ‘atheism’ a religion.
