Whitesmoke is an OSR game based on the Whitebox rules. Its a ttrpg to run fantasy worlds, which entered the industrial revolution. Simple rules + a lot of optional stuff to play with + a lot of random tables.

Magic system for my Whitebox hack.
Well... it's the classic vancian magic, but I just made two tables for light spellcasting and heavy spellcasting characters.
This will make designing new classes easier (or adding spellcasting to a character mid-campaign if they got it somehow).

The OSR I'm working on uses d20, bc I really dislike the idea of switching to d6 to check something, while attacks use d20.

BUT I use the method from the retroclone Warlock! - you roll d20, add your attribute, and if the result is 20+ - it's a success.

I want players to know that high roll = good

Work on my industrial revolution Whitebox hack is going great! I finished re-writing the rules. What's left is magic, monsters and the game is 100% playable.
Yes, attribute checks are added (OSR fans pls don't block me), but I tried keeping them as simple as possible.

We played Shadowdark again yesterday. By sheer luck we managed somehow to reach the "end" of the megadungeon. I'm playing a kobold ranger with a magic sword.
Sadly, this may be my least fav OSR or NSR game, but the next session may be our last one anyway.

The most fun I had with OSE, is when we just started on an empty hex map, and generated with my players various stuff with Knave 2ed. tables AND we added the dwelling building rules from Pathfinder 2ed. SRD
After session 3 we had multiple dungeons and a town, where the players designed a house. Fun.

tbh I don't see any hope in the US ttrpg fandom. I just checked some youtubers in my country, and the last LPs are Imperium Maledictum and Star Trek Adventures.
However, as long as there are Mr. Hasbros with check books and streams pay your house bills in the US, nothing much will change.

We played Moonstone for the first time during a board game meet.
Really fun and random!
One Page Rules is the most popular minis game here, but this will def be our game no. 2 from now on.
