For years I would share a comment made by a prof. when I was an undergrad: "Starving people are very inconvenient for the powers that be." (She was a master of understatement and I think we all got it.) I then would add, "Think of it. If you're going to starve to death, why not storm the castle?

(taps earpiece) Terribly sorry. I was just reminded that although previous Supreme Courts have recognized that the 4th Amendment is applicable to technology that didn't exist in 1787, the current Supreme Court (6 of them anyway) might be hostile to that concept. My bad.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the absence of "Who cares, they caught the guy" comments. It's a serious question...how does a 200+ year old document protect against AI? It's been done before. After all, telephones didn't exist in 1787. Nor did cars. In those instances the Supreme Court...

thinking skills that are vauluable beyond just the study of history. And often they do so in the face of opposition and even in some cases threats to their career. We're teaching it. Maybe the 23+ hours per day when kids aren't in our class have something to do with it. 🤔

As a high school US history for 20 years...um, no. There are thousands of teachers and organizations supporting them (such as the Stanford History Education Group*) that drill down on what some would consider true stains on US history. And just as important as the content, they foster critical
