One more! But quite meager this #bookoff. Very book-ish. Let's continue! #kyushu #retrogaming #gamehunting
Passed by an #hardoff, so yes of course we stopped and had a look. Got myself a #konami PicNo game card and 2 laserdiscs (each ¥1!). Friend bought the #wonderswan crystal junk item for ¥5000. #kyushu #retrogaming #gamehunting
Passed by a Book Off Plus on our way to that Neo Geo game so we had to stop and check of course! #fukuoka #gamehunting #retrogaming
Some more photos to oogle over. #surugaya
Visited a big #surugaya last night, away from #fukuoka center, but still along one of the big roads going south. Lots of nice stuff. Picked up some more PC-Engine games. Friend saw an expensive Neo Geo game he wants, so we are going back now, because tax-free was only until 18:00. #gamehunting
Visited a very big Manga Souko far away from the center of #fukuoka. Found some more cheap #pcengine and #hudsonsoft #famicom games. Forgot to take photos of the inside, *doh*. And I bought 3 a bit more expensive PCe shmups, because I keep seeing my friend buy them expensive games! #retrogaming
Stopped by a Manga Souko in a remote areas of #fukuoka and picked up some more #pcengine games and a few more #famicom #hudsonsoft games. I still need to get myself and RX, but this one is not within my budget unfortunately. #kyushu #retrogaming #gamehunting
First stop, Surugaya next to the train station in shopping mall Kitte on the 6th floor. Found quite some #pcengine games I don't have yet. A lot more of the cheap PCe stuff compared to Alaska and Tokyo. Buying anything #pce under ¥2000 I don't have yet. #fukuoka #kyushu #retrogaming
Passed by Pokemon Center Fukuoka next to the train station. But we are all pre-poke generation so no need to stop. X'mas stuff already being promoted. #pokemon #fukuoka
Up and away! 11:00, time to get out of the house. We had a great night last night. Love it when you can still get food after midnight. Small yakitori specialist was still open (and almost full even!). #fukuoka #kyushu #japan #midnightsnack
Unexpected, but very welcome :)
Landed in #fukuoka and managed to enter the unmanned hotel apartment after some problems. Very big! Now looking for some food and drink. There was even a shop still open (23:56) and my friend bought a game and a controller just before they closed at midnight. #japan #hakata #retrogaming
It's so ugly, it's beautiful. Didn't they do this redesign to try and target a younger (Nintendo) demographic?
And Osaka Denki Town area. Also really cool was a model kit shop, Japan's biggest, 5 floors full. Somewhere along the main street there.
I saved the ones I could find on Google maps last time. Trader HQ was still being remodelled last year, so we could not visit, but it is huge. Mandrake Complex was also very nice, saw some nice stuff behind the counter including a #laseractive set.
Ken-chan's Home Appliance Store is one of my favorites, it's only a couple of square meters but has so much cool stuff, I can spend an hour just checking the stuff out. Not everything for sale, but they have neat stuff. I have an older post with photos somewhere.

Beep is nice, more different things. I am going to Kyushu, so not dropping by Tokyo and Osaka this time. We did that last year and had lots of fun. Osaka was more fun than Tokyo, so if you have the chance, definitely visit Osaka. A little less choice in the shops, but a tad better prices.
About to board the plane and hop off to #fukuoka #japan. If anyone knows of nice game shops that are not listed on Google maps, please feel free to share :). Especially old shops with very old stuff. #retrogaming #gamehunting #pcengine #famicom #kyushu
Last post from #bulgaria. Spotted one more thing, looks like the #famicom family computer logo that was sometimes used. What was it supposed to mean? It looks like FF. Family Computer? FamiFom? Or most probably Famicom Family (Computer). Or just "part of Famicom Family". #sofia #streetart
Once back in #sofia I saw a simple "SONIC" piece while in the bus but was not quick enough to take a photo. But once we arrived at the Central Station there was a subway (en-uk) painted wall to wall. Very cool. It was for a graffiti festival. #streetart #bulgaria
The secret level there has glass jars, if you break them in order of the password that was given, a message will be shown about going to a "reverse round". You will go to the 50+ levels (and save the king?). The levels are not reversed or mirrored though. They are more difficult though..
Replaying after you got the password, you can find a hidden key in round 1 when at the top platform, jumping and hitting the air (you can see a yellow crescent when you hit it). After hitting it a few times you get a key and it will open a door. If you go through you will "warp" to a secret level.
#hitexploded it (with save states). There were 50 levels, and bosses each 10 levels. Bosses were easier than Bubble Bobble ones, but the normal enemies could be more tricky. Saved the fairy/princess and a message saying the king is missing and we need to find the password room... #taito #pcengine
At the Retro Gaming Bar in Sofia I played a bit of Don Doko Don by #taito, which was a lot of fun and reminded me of Bubble Bubble. So I decided to try and finish the #pcengine version of the game. The arcade version looked better though, more colours, more scaling/rotating effects. #arcade #mame
