Amanda's favorite genre of book is fiction and non-fiction about women in the medical field. Here are a couple of her recommendations!
Light gray text on a maroon background.

TEXT: Book Recommendations
The Sweet Blue Distance
Sara Donati
"My favorite micro-genre of historical fiction is 'women in medical professions.' This one is about a young woman who travels to the New Mexico territory to serve as a midwife. This author has other books about previous generations of this character's family featuring nurses, midwives, and physicians." Light gray text on a maroon background.

TEXT: Book Recommendations
All in Her Head
Elizabeth Comen, M.D.
"If you are interested in women in medical history but prefer non-fiction, try this one. A fascinating and harrowing look at how historical medical treatment of women continues to impact present-day care."

Favorite part of your job
"I really like that my job involves talking to people in all areas of the library about how they use the Alma (used to check materials in and out, manage e-resources, and keep track of collection purchases) and how they help people use Scholar OneSearch.
When I figure out how to solve an Alma problem that the library staff have been dealing with, it's the most triumphant feeling. Getting it to work is great, but it's even better to know that I'm making other people's daily work a little smoother." Light gray text on a maroon background. A photo shows a finger with a black dragonfly perched on it.

TEXT: Fun Fact About Me
"As an undergrad, I did two summers of dragonfly research, and studied ground beetles for my senior thesis. The dragonfly perched on my finger is a crimson-ringed whiteface. If you need an insect identified, I'm on it!"
