Can you imagine the shockwaves of America putting forces into Gaza ? They would last for decades. It would be utter madness. And even now the ceasefire is less secure simply because of these comments.

It always comes back to : He’s insane.

Also - who did his make up tonight ? He should fire them

Just seeing El Trumpo on TV saying “They will disarm, and if they don’t we will disarm them”.

This guy thinks he’s a diplomatic superstar. 1 day in to a ceasefire he’s threatening to step in as a previously non-belligerent power to break the ceasefire. He’s insane.

That paragraph about Stephen Miller’s party at Ned’s Club is a total non-sequitur. What’s it doing there ? Who are “the people” ? Also there’s no reason why one republican shouldn’t go to another republican’s birthday party whatever branch of government they belong to.

Seen Rush several times, and met Alex & Geddy. Oddly I’ve been in Venice on 3 occasions when either Pink Floyd or Roger Waters played a free gig in St Marks square, and never managed to see them. Especially coincidental as I’ve only been to Venice 4 times in total.

I knew someone who did have front row tickets (well stalls tickets anyway) to see Jimi Hendrix at Sheffield City Hall in England. Unfortunately Hendrix died just after he bought the tickets. Afaik he’s spent the rest of his life telling everyone he meets.

@atrupar.com I watch a lot of the videos you post, & frequently find that some “freeze” at around 30s in, & are then difficult to view. Do you (or anyone) know why this happens & if there’s a way around it ? I have excellent internet connections generally. I am outside US

Some of it depends on how terrified you are for your very existence when you are forced to make the choice. Easy to make glib generalisations from your armchair. (And I’m no different in that respect)

It surprises me most that the BBC didn’t brief her on that, or even edit it out. This is a flagship BBC show on its most po-faced of channels that prides itself on its supposed excellence.

She’s also been around the “rock scene” quite a bit over the years. Shouldn’t have needed briefing.

I heard Desert Island Discs in the car this morning. Ronnie Wood of the Stones. Lauren Laverne seemed surprised by his friendship with Beatles members. She mentioned the rivalry between the two bands.

Wood joined the Stones 5 years after The Beatles split.

In the early 80s UK there were very popular anti-fascist groups - AntiNaziLeague & Rock Against Racism. The right wing Conservative Govt. condemned them as fronts for far left revolutionary groups. Some years later,it became obvious that it was actually true. 😥. We had some great times all the same

It is ridiculous to suggest that those groups have any prominence in the US (or most places) but it offers a crumb of legitimation to Trump’s goons.

This is true. It is unfortunately also true that it’s the name of loosely associated groups in Central Europe that are part of an Anarcho-Syndicalist umbrella organisation- generally considered extreme left. The black & red flags often seen as an Antifa logo derive from these groups.

The woman presenting BBC2’s coverage of the Scotland match from pitch-side is wearing 4” stilettos 👠 (black actually not red). I’m very much of the opinion that she can wear what the hell she likes, and she’s doing a very professional job. It’s not exactly following Health & Safety guidelines though

As an Englishman & England supporter, I’m genuinely wanting Scotland to win tonight & to qualify for the World Cup. Got to say though that they can match England easily when it comes to making hard work of poor opponents and piling psychological torture on their long suffering fans.
