The books were never good and the author was never talented. You only liked them because you were too young to know better, to see the issues.
And that's fine. Ignorance isn't a sin. Clinging to ignorance, is.

Other books exist. Ones not written by bigots.

choice because pleasant memories of a childhood of not understanding quiet-but-insidious ethnic jabs is not worth telling a whole group of people - some of whom I'm directly related to - that they're against God's plan or some shit.

Harry Potter was my childhood. I read (past tense) the books. The spines are so bent that you could drop the book and have it open on a given chapter-start.
Watched the movies. Still have the PS1 #1 and PC #2 games. Even got some merch somewhere.

The series is dead to me. And it's easy to make that

lmao, No Man's Sky just NaN'd out and corrupted my save file.
I'd be insensately pissed if I didn't still have an AppData backup from a couple days ago (FROM THE LAST NMS FAILURE NO LESS).

I like both. Unhinged Jokes are a comedy too. Running afoul of "oh, so you're just a knob" is an heightened risk. If it takes more effort to get the joke than it did to write it, you better had been careful.

Also, I expect anyone aware of Bsky's current arc is gonna a little more cynical than usual

*One time, I took Windows at its word when it claimed "your personal files and folders won't be affected". I lost many things. Like a document of things to tell my father before he died (he was still alive at the time), and affirmations from my friends to read whenever I want to stop living.

Despite hearing that even a full upgrade-in-place/reinstall doesn't fix this problem, I am throwing my hands up and trying. WinRAR is backing up my user folder*, and I have the massgrave.dev script ready. I have taken my melatonin. This is officially a Tomorrow-Me problem.

Each time, Windows 11 finds a new and fascinating way to completely shit down its own leg. Catastrophically persona-non-grata'ing one single app is a new one.

Every other app works, including other Web browsers. But Firefox is an important one for me. And rather than run or install, the program silently runs-crashes-runs-crashes and spams the Event Log.

Windows violently hanged while I was playing No Man's Sky. Now Firefox won't run or reinstall, despite running an update-repair on Windows. Ntdll.dll 0xc0000005.
Sean got my ass again. Can't believe this. More like No Man's PC.
