In Trump‘s case it’s complete bullshit. He’s had a diet of basically just fast food and uppers for decades, and can’t even play around a golf without cheating and hogging the cart. His health is worse than Biden‘s ever was. Biden has prostate cancer and it wouldn’t surprise me if Trump died first./3

It’s always exaggerated, but there’s always something to it. Mussolini swam daily and lifted weights to work on his core strength. Hitler was a recreational mountain hiker who made it a point to put aside sometime every day to train dogs.

One thing that gives me a little bit of a giggle is the one big and important difference between Trump and any other fascist dictator throughout history.

Most of them either weren’t happening in the first place or are still ongoing. The few cases where it was actually a war that has since come to a stop, he’s at best stealing credit for other people‘s work.

I’ve started taking bets on how long shut down will be. The previous record was 35 days and I’m willing to wager we will sail right past that, mostly on account of the fact that it’s pretty much impossible for the house to get anything done without also releasing the Epstein files.

Well, he didn’t win the peace prize. Turns out his bold peace promotion strategy of “intentionally escalate the conflict for his own gain and then demand credit for promoting peace when he just stops escalating things” didn’t impress the committee.

[Short Version- Because we use the scientific method all scientific theories must be Empirical, Testable, and Falsifiable. They must be as Objective as humanly possible, can be tested, and can be proven wrong at least in theory.

Literally none of those things apply to creationism.]

Good. I don’t think the Republicans are in a rush though. They can’t end the shutdown without passing a budget through the house, and they can’t pass a budget through the house without opening up a session with the house which will require them to swear in new members. Epstein Files!

I taught mostly freshman level physics and astronomy so I would often include basic scientific philosophy and terminology, including the scientific method and what this implies about scientific theories.

Turns out learning exactly why creationism doesn’t work for science is bad for conservatism.

You’re getting threats because conservatives are saying you teaching about how fascism is bad as a threat to conservatism. Gee, what an interesting opinion they have.

I was on that watchlist for a little while too for teaching students that they can’t just have conservative ideology as science.

so many people went to the Disney subscription cancellation page that it crashed the site, so Disney offered a compromise where they’ll let him back on the air if he apologizes for his remarks and pays the Kirk family some money.

Did we just win?

[If you want to be more precise, he was at a conference for alt-right influencers and his exact wording was more like “their land grab strategy during the war was arguably too aggressive”. That’s not flat saying the only thing the Nazis did wrong was lose the war, but that sure as hell implies it.]

This is good because Kirk was a Nazi. I’m not exaggerating, one of his first big statements was to say that the only thing the Nazis ever did wrong was lose the war.

In a healthy society public killings like that don’t happen, but otherwise fuck Charlie Kirk. I won’t be gaslit.

Used to be about 2 in 5, now it’s only about 1 in 4. Among GOP used to be about 4 in 5 and now it’s a little less than half.

Turns out to properly martyr someone you need to invoke empathy, which is hard to do for someone who openly called empathy damaging to society. /2

It’s not working. A poll that was scheduled to be conducted right after when the shooting took place anyway found that the percentage of people that think the country is headed in the right direction has basically been cut in half. /1

Kash Patel just testified that they can’t find any evidence at Epstein trafficked any underaged girls to other people.

It would be equivalent to busting Escobar with several million dollars worth of cocaine but insisting that it’s all for personal use. That’s what Kash is trying to do for Trump.
