n now you got the case it is a general term for just someone that might be based on the writer which isn't a bad thing imo, hell most of the decorated works often have characters that are just obvious versions of the creator. but there you go.

ig the problem is that it is basically a term very contextual for fan fiction, and the recurring situation of a main character being someone clearly based on the writer without flaws,

without flaws being the big key. like we can talk if that is bad or not, but that didn't make for good stories.
