Makoto and Akira look on in concern from the front row of the car, Futaba points and laughs mirthfully as she climbs out of the van behind Yusuke, Ann tries to stifle her giggles, and Ryuji laughs loudly while smacking the side of the van with one hand.

Panel 1: Ryuji closes his eyes and sighs in exasperation as he says, "Even if you're not..." Panel 2: The rest of Ryuji's sentence is completed as he pulls his neckwarmer over his head. He finishes, "...you could still get sick." Panel 3: Yusuke starts to ask, "Ryuji, what are you doimgffff" and is cut off as Ryuji puts the neckwarmer over Yusuke's head. He tells Yusuke, "Just use this for now." Panel 4: Yusuke, now with the neckwarmer snugly around his neck, looks at Ryuji in mild surprise with faint blush on his cheeks. Ryuji scolds him, "And promise me you'll try to take better care of yourself, okay?" Panel 5: Yusuke tucks his face into the neckwarmer, moved a bit by the show of concern for his well-being. His face warms as shoujo bubbles fill the background. Ryuji doesn't notice this and is annoyed by Yusuke's seeming lack of response, complaining "...you listenin' to me?"

Ryuji sighs in embarrassment while his mother beams, saying "My wonderful son is walking me home today, how lucky!" Next to this is a 2-panel comic explaining that Ryuji's mother has a strong startle response, which would explain why Ryuji often feels the need to apologize to the girls when he is particularly loud or angry. In the comic, a loud "bang" comes from Ryuji's room and causes his mom to jump and tremble, followed by a speech bubble that says "It's okay, I just tripped!"
