For those coming from FB to here (I am leaving FB, and some of my RL friends are migrating)... I learned this the hard way; before following back, check the profile. If they have only been here for 4 hours, have 3k followers, and only pictures of food and bikinis, they are an OF account.

I am with you on that. Any type of fundamentalist is a real danger to us. Christian evangelicals are no different from the Taliban. No different at all. But we do have to be careful that we do not turn into our own version of evangelicals.

In fairness, my disillusionment started in the 80s. I don’t hate religion, I just no longer have a use for it. If there is a god, they and I will have a chat when I meet them.

They see the short term profits as acceptable, because those can be massive. They cannot see the long term effects because they are on a quarter to quarter reporting cycle.

I am an uncivilized jerk that pretends to be civilized periodically. What I do NOT want is fascism or any other type of authoritarian rule anywhere in humanity. I spent a life time studying cause and effect relationships on national and global scales, and what I am seeing in the US terrifies me.

The problem we face is the volume of bullshit they are pushing to rush the Republican into fascism and corporate rule. If we focus on one issue, we will lose everything. Not just the republic, but the whole of the free world.

They do not actually care about fiscal responsibility. What they care about is max profitability for their corporate masters, and they do not care about how many of us they kill to get it. Bullet or ending healthcare affordability… the result is the same, only the duration of suffering is different

The plan is not to help farmers in any way. MAGA leadership hates the fact that so many farms are not owned by corporations, and the plan is to change that. MAGA does not care if some farmers lose it all, in fact… it is exactly what they are counting on.
