I can't answer the question about her mother. The cemetery is so tiny, I think there are only a couple of other memorials. I must pop in the next time I'm passing and check.

Metal foot bridge over tracks at Thurles Railway Station, installed in 1883. Erected to prevent people from crossing the tracks going to or coming from trains. Closed to public access nowadays.

Great Southern & Western Railway Company logo from what looks like the bottom of a broken cup, which I found working on an old railway sidings some years ago. I have not seen another example since, complete or broken.

Grave memorial to memory of James O'Connell, aged 11 years, who was killed in an accident at Thurles Railway Station in April 1892. The memorial was erected by the members of the GS&WR Cricket Club. James was interred in St. Mary's graveyard, Thurles. @rwldproject.bsky.social #RailwayHistory

Absolutely, for a long while. There was a boy killed at Thurles Station in the 1890s, and it was the GS&WR CC who erected his grave memorial. It is probably the only tangible piece of evidence for the club. The memorial is in one of the town graveyards. Pic to follow at the weekend.
