I can get behind this. Me smash boss. Me gear. me smash boss harder. As early as the oculus I kept saying "I didn't level my class to this level to be told I don't deserve success because I'm not a good enough dragon pilot."

You know what? I take back the hardline idea of “never see a new rig” because the option exists for them to pull a “Dracthyr without visage” and just let the community rage about another “barbershop transmog” race. But retrofitting all ancient transmog to a new rig? Nope, don’t see it.

I mean, there’s really no way to have this not be the case. Their whole gimmick is survivability. They do damage. Events like remix add self recovery and more damage. A tank is the whole trinity, more than any other role. with those things. If you scale to kill the tank, everyone else is doomed.

It’s not fear, it’s effort economics and resource allocation. Did you hear their deep dive race answer? They went all “small indie company” over Sethrak. We will never see a new race “rig” or a single-faction locked race ever again, IMO, so wishlists need to bear that in mind. Amani=Customizations.

*IF* we see factionally locked races ever again (which I doubt) I agree this is the obvious trade off. It doesn’t require a new skeleton and is just a sidestep from void elves. I still think Midnight patches in logistically united VE and BE into a singular dual-faction race with identical classes.

IMO Amani won’t be a race beyond the customizations *because* they don’t fit in both factions. WoW seems wholly done with faction locked races.

Effort-economics rule WoW development now, and building 2 races at a time no longer fits. Look how “small indie company” they got when citing Sethrak.

Articles like this are helpful but also kind of a bummer for me because it's a retroactive statement that my priorities were "wrong." Meh, I targeted cosmetics that I can't farm outside the event. There's catchup mechanics coming in december. #WorldOfWarcraft

I'm so glad you mentioned achievements because I looked into them and OH LOOK a suit of armor that my TEAM VOID warband absolutely needs!

So as a guardian druid it's not terrible, but I can think of a lot of classes/specs that would have it a LOT worse.

EXACTLY! One thing everyone agrees on is that it's generally not "harder" (of course "everyone" will say that) but it is very HP-spongey and like... at that point WoW players of an older persuasion who have boiled this game down to time efficiency need to see the rewards augmented and I'm just not.

From everything I can see and all I've experienced, the only "point" to the heroic world tier is "I LiKe a cHalLenGe" or "I gEt tO Do mY WhOle RotATiOn." No one's answered the "are there augmented rewards" question when asked. It seems like the "anti-time/effort efficiency" mode. #WorldOfWarcraft

I think you'll see a lot of people build "the alliance troll they always wanted" or "the nightelf with a skin tone I could never have." Not to mention an elf-shaped shaman which is awesome!

If there was ever a race built to be "not canonically what you see," it's the Haranir. I'm using them to finally represent my ancient dryad OC, and I'm going to reroll my Lae'zel and Elphaba tribute characters. But yeah, an actual Haranir? Not much of an interest. Love them as a OC pallette.

Probably realize it's not in their best interests to draw attention to "originality" when they're going into AI. It's potentially arguable that they can't put that on AI stuff... so just scrap it altogether and normalize not using the term.

I find single button assistant to be the best solution to balance (and all other specs’ damage rotation) fuckery. When the game essentially told us it would hold itself responsible for “good enough” damage performance, I never looked back.
