Standing in Nelson Mandela’s cell on Robben Island (for 18 of his 27 years of imprisonment) is an emotional experience. The brutality that was inflicted on the political prisoners here is hard to even process.

I read The God of the Woods by Liz Moore. It was a very entertaining page-turner. It’s a plot driven book with a bit of commentary about class and families and some well drawn characters (and a few one-dimensional characters). I really liked it. #BookSky

Since I’m in South Africa, I was thinking of Sun City by Artists United Against Apartheid. This was the era of the big all star protest song. So fun to see the diverse artists in this video. I especially loved seeing Joey Ramone. And the Fat Boys! Does anyone remember this?
