Took my OpenFlexure Microscope to a demo today. I decided to walk. It's nice to have a project portable enough you can carry it 4km along the Bath Skyline.

The Humanitarian Technology Trust launches today, and they're supporting our work on the OpenFlexure Microscope!

Microscopy saves lives, but access remains a barrier in much of the world. HTT’s first mission: help scale up our open-source microscope for global impact.

We would love to have more microscopes in Kenya.

In the past an organisation called TechForTrade built a version of our microscopes on the university of Nairobi campus from recycled plastic bottles.

We'll send you a DM

OpenFlexure Microscopes are more available than ever. It is really exciting to see so many businesses helping our community buy microscopes.

@labcrafter.co.uk have a new Hi-Res upgrade kit.

Fieldworkers in Japan are also selling a kit!

The true power of Open Hardware is that anyone can sell it.

We built on the @openflexure.bsky.social platform to combine a 3D printed microscope chassis with both a 3D printed condenser and objective lens.

Now we have the entire microscope, including the optics, printed for less than £7.00… and it works!

Hello BlueSky.

The OpenFlexure Project is an open source project that allows anyone to build a robotic microscope anywhere in the world.

So far people have told us that they have built or used an OpenFlexure Microscope in 50+ countries. Have you built or used one in a country that isn't pink yet?
A map of all locations the OpenFlexure Microscope has been built or used in. 58 countries/territories on all seven continents are highlighted in pink.
