Yes! Freedom Rangers or other dual purpose breeds are closer to 12-16 weeks. They are slower to grow, more active & less “fragile” than CX. I’ve raised both but just have layers only now. The mass produced chickens though that supply meat for groceries are more likely CX.

Try 8 weeks. Cornish Cross are most prevalent and are processed as close to 8 week mark as possible. Much longer & their bodies don’t generally survive & pass on their own.
