Being an #adult means

Taking #care of our basic needs first

Realised after a session yesterday that as adults we often externalise our responsibilities &then we consume ourselves

Much like the #oxygen mask in an airplane our job is taking care of ourselves first so we can provide oxygen to others

& I realise I don't formally use #hypnosis in my sessions anymore.

Yet I still use everything hypnosis & #NLP taught me.

Being able to work conversationally with #trance is a great joy that affirms client #agency.

We can not ask everyone to go there

Not everyone wants

And a journey towards the edges of vulnerability adds its own value to the process

Mainstream is not the solution. It devalues

But for a more integrated & caring world we need to make room for these spaces to openly exist in the world

Point is we need spaces of vulnerability where darker sides can come out
Not to destroy but to play the game of destruction

And we can enjoy them through us being in the game too

Unfortunately the morality of our culture often lacks such spaces Pushes them in the fringes or covers them under taboo

And then put the dust under the carpet.

Deal with them long enough so we can cover them. And make sure others keep them under wraps too and never vulnerably witness them.

But being afraid of our own worst traits and becoming protective through a self-centered approach is what in the end makes them come out.

In the moment the grip of our control loosens

Because we never really witnessed them in a collaborative way

Perhaps we faced them in more of a combative manner

The innate fear the worst enemy the world can have out there is our own worst traits, and being well meaning requires being overprotective of other people's behaviours when we think they hint towards these traits, even if they don't.

Better keep it under wraps for everyone type of attitude.

Sometimes I wonder how much of one's strong advice towards others comes from them wanting to protect the world from their own worst impulses

Effectively saying:

"Don't be like me"

from a moral high ground of not revealing themselves

&how much each of us can be like that when we least realise it

Fundamentally to help people one needs to capture their attention.
