The Ottawa Police Service is seeking witnesses to a collision that occurred on Saturday, October 11th, around 11:46 p.m. on Parkway Rd between Sale Barn Rd and John Quinn Rd. A man in his 20s was pronounced deceased at the scene.

In a separate incident, an OPS cruiser responding to assist collided with another vehicle in an intersection. The officer sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the other vehicle declined medical attention.

Earlier today, officers responded to a robbery involving a suspect who made threats while accompanied by a dog. The suspect fled the scene and was located a short time later. During the arrest, officers deployed OC spray to safely contain the animal, which was later secured by bylaw services.

OPS executed a search warrant which resulted in seizure of psilocybin products and charges.

Police will be clearing from the school soon, and the investigation will continue. Out of an abundance of caution, another school nearby also went into lockdown, which has since been lifted. The firearm was not used at or inside the school, and there are no injuries.

Currently, there is a large police presence at a high school on Longfields Drive after we received a report of a student with a gun. The school went into lockdown while a search took place. Three students were arrested, and a pellet/airsoft gun was recovered. One student has since been released.

The OPS has arrested a man in connection with a hate-motivated incident that occurred on October 7, 2025.

L’Unité des crimes haineux et préjugés enquête sur une agression contre une femme portant le hijab. Un homme lui aurait crié des insultes haineuses dans une station-service sur Carling, hier matin. L’enquête se poursuit.

The Hate and Bias Crime Unit is investigating an assault on a woman wearing a hijab. A man shouted hate slurs at her at a gas station on Ave yesterday morning. The investigation is ongoing.
