One day a party comes back with a survivor, who is in bad shape. As they take him into the infirmary, Kyōjurō recognizes it as Hakuji but he’s very different. Strange tattoos, pink hair and once he’s conscious, he has no memory of Rengoku or anything in his late teen life.

The Hashiras act as heads of the community in different facets. Shinobu is the head doctor, Gyomei is a religious or spiritual leader, Sanemi leads most of the hunting. Tengen is single handedly repopulating the country with his three wives. Giyu is resource management, Mitsuri is food prep.

Time skip, we find Kyōjurō and his brother hunting in the woods of the mountains. They’ve become part of a large community of people living in near isolation. Located in the mountains, somewhat self sustaining, growing food and leading foraging parties to get supplies like medicine.

The two became very close spending time outside of work. Time passes and we get into the first events of the infection spreading into Japan. Most of the main cast escapes. Kyōjurō and his family but we don’t see Hakuji. Time skip-

and a little bit before. Kyōjurō and Hakuji were friends, they met working at the same grocery store. Some of the other Hashiras worked there. Hakuji essentially has the same backstory lost his father as a teen but was taken in by Keizo, gets with Koyuki etc.

Fuck me and my inability to make friends online apparently. Because I can’t join a server have a nice interaction with one person hit it off with them. Then suddenly have them block me and never speak to me again. And I always feel like I did something wrong. But I’ll never know. #vent
