Finally, I work on the colors using gradient maps, and a bit of overpaint (particularly in the skin) for areas that have temperature variations. The advantage of working with gradient maps, is that they allow you to make many different iterations of the colors, like so

After deciding on a sketch, I create a clean version of the line art, then, I color the lineart separately in flat gray, and work on the values on a new layer clipped to the flat; the sketch becomes part of the values, and the edge highlights are done on a new layer.

I originally planned on doing Ken's classic taunt pose, but once I finished the sketch, it was too similar to the pose he has on his default New Challenger image, so I started a second sketch based on the parry from SF3

My usual workflow is roughly: Sketch - Clean Lineart - Values - Colors. I do most of the illustration in Procreate (everything up to values), and then I complete the Colors in Photoshop on my PC.
