It is stunning even for me, who predicted the mega quake, that the quake should happen at 23:24 hours GMT July 29 and I'd predicted it to be the most likeliest to happen at 21:40 hours GMT July 29.

M4.9 quake, with a focal depth of only 10 km, near major cities such as Chengdu, Leshan, Meishan and Yaan of Sichuan Province in China on Oct 12 afternoon. Tremors felt across the region.

Unlike last time, I expect this time the tariffs to more or less stay and even ratchet up. Trump may even successfully pressurise other countries to tariff China.

President Donald Trump has said the US would impose a new tariff of 100% on imports from China “over and above any Tariff that they are currently paying,” starting November 1, 2025.

Trump also said that the US on that same date also would impose export controls on “any and all critical software.”
