"He prepares every game like he's going to be the starter." - Narduzzi on RS freshman LB Cam Lindsey
"We found out a lot about the character we have in that room."
Narduzzi says Mason Heintschel was responsible for three of Syracuse's seven sacks.
Narduzzi says Syracuse didn't do anything different to get seven sacks on Mason Heintschel.

"It was something we did differently: we didn't execute very well."
Narduzzi says Desmond Reid's limited playing time - only around 20 snaps - and an effort to keep him healthy played into Reid not having any targets in Saturday's game.
And Narduzzi also says N.C. State has "the best set of defensive ends" Pitt has seen this season.
Narduzzi says NC State running back Hollywood Smothers "is special. The best tailback we've faced to this point."
Narduzzi says N.C. State is "the most talented football team we have played to date. I can guarantee you that."
Not surprisingly, Narduzzi cites the penalties as a big problem, in addition to issues protecting the quarterback.
Narduzzi says the offense didn't play very well. He says the noise at the Dome was more than Pitt encountered at Florida State.
Narduzzi likes the way Pitt's players responded at Syracuse on Saturday, particularly on defense where the Panthers were considerably short-handed.
We can still make this happen.
Obviously we've got some site issues today (a lot of the Internet does, too). We'll post notable items from Pat Narduzzi's press conference here.

Olivia Babcock is gonna have her own true crime podcast about her with all these kills (I’ll see myself out)
The No. 6 Pitt volleyball team just knocked off No. 4 Louisville in five sets on the road. Impressive win for the Panthers.

Olivia Babcock had 41 kills in the win.

Pitt' starting lineup for the exhibition game against Providence today:

Damarco Minor
Brandin Cummings
Barry Dunning Jr.
Roman Siulepa
Cam Corhen
In Mason Heintschel's first two starts - one at home; one on the road - Pitt's offense was called for zero procedure penalties.

At the Dome last night, the Panthers were called for four false starts and one illegal motion (plus another pre-snap penalty that was declined).
Final tally on last night:

30 total penalties called. 18 on Pitt (13 of which were accepted) and 12 on Syracuse.
Pitt linebackers Cam Lindsey and Nick Lapi each played more defensive snaps last night than they had in the first 6 games combined. They each finished with 7 tackles and 2 tackles for loss.

Huge work in a challenging situation with injuries.
One week after being named ACC Receiver of the Week for catching 8/155/2, Pitt RB Desmond Reid ran a route on just over 60% of his passing snaps Saturday night at Syracuse - the lowest route participation rate of his two seasons with the Panthers.
Going live right now. I know you've got something to say about Pitt's 30-13 win at Syracuse.

I know I do, too.
