Two e-book covers by Pathless Pilgrim related to veganism. The left cover, titled “VEGAN COOKING & NUTRITION,” features a bowl of colourful plant-based food—avocado, cherry tomatoes, red onions, green beans, and grains—with chopsticks resting on the bowl, set against a black background. The right cover, titled “AN INTRODUCTION TO VEGANISM AND ANIMAL RIGHTS,” shows a calf standing in a pen, with a white background. Both titles use green and black text, highlighting themes of ethical living and nutritional guidance.

Have you had the first frost yet?
#Autumn #Photography

Close-up of a red rose covered in frost. The crystalline frost outlines the edges of the petals, creating a striking contrast between the vibrant red bloom and the icy white texture. In the softly blurred background, another red rose and green leaves are visible, along with hints of buildings and trees under a clear blue sky. The image captures a delicate tension between warmth and cold, life and stillness.

Aha! That explains it. My first impression was full moon, but I could see hints of artificial lighting off to the right, and that threw me

When was the last time you saw a long-tailed tit?

#Birds
#Photography by Mark A Jenkins
Long-tailed Tit perched on a thin branch in a softly blurred natural setting. The bird has a white head with black markings, a long tail, and a mix of brown, black, and white feathers. The background features muted branches and gentle light, evoking a quiet woodland atmosphere. The bird’s posture suggests alertness and delicate poise.

The question is, would you still be content to have someone killed for a non-vegan recipe if that recipe looked more delicious?

Look at the way this beautiful Red Squirrel uses his tail as an umbrella against the snow.

European Red Squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris): The Head & Body length of this rodent is 23cm (9in) with its tail adding 20cm (8in)! Amazing photo taken by Mike Phelps in the UK.

Benjamin would wish you all a Happy #Caturday but he's too busy enjoying his afternoon nap 💤
#cats #photography
A cat with dark brown tabby and white fur is curled up and sleeping on a fluffy light blue cushion. The soft texture of the bedding and the cat’s relaxed posture create a cosy, serene atmosphere, evoking warmth, comfort, and quiet contentment.

It's a UK train station, but which one?

Front facade of a symmetrical building featuring a central red door with frosted glass panels, flanked by two identical white-framed windows. Each window is divided into two sections, with the lower panes slightly ajar. The beige wall is accented with red trim outlining the door and windows. Above, a red frieze with a repeating circular pattern and a small decorative relief add visual interest. The base of the building has red trim, and the ground is paved with black asphalt. The composition is orderly, with subtle signs of life and architectural charm.

We cycled out beyond where the road ends, where buzzards mewed as they circled overhead.

At the forest edge, tit flocks in constant motion called to each other as they foraged through the canopy.

Squirrels were busy collecting their #autumn stores & #fungi grew underfoot.

Here's a nice mushroom

What's the one thing you'd miss if civilisation ended tomorrow?
A wrecked airplane fuselage lies on barren, dark ground beneath an overcast sky. The aircraft is heavily damaged, missing its wings and tail. A person in a white hoodie and dark trousers stands atop the fuselage, adding scale and human presence to the desolate scene. The composition evokes themes of abandonment, resilience, and post-industrial solitude.

🦉 The owl didn’t blink.
But the rock began to crawl.
Hundreds of ladybirds swarmed a giant stone owl in Jubilee Woods, Sefton — a surreal moment of warmth, memory, and ecological irony.

I was going to upload a video showing close-up footage of all the ladybirds, but Bluesky says it's too large a file, even when cut down to under a minute

So this was bizarre...
We went out on the bikes today to Jubilee Woods in Sefton and found this giant owl statue covered in ladybirds of various species, with more ladybirds arriving by the second.
Any entomologists out there who can explain this phenomenon?

Jane Goodall changed how we see animals.
But was she really vegan - or is that just propaganda?

I dug into the facts. Here's what I found...

"Time to Bloom" (2024)
Acrylic painting on Canvas

One-of-a-kind artwork by Lana Guise

Framed and ready to hang.

Available via Artfinder at www.artfinder.com/invite/AnBpM...

#art #flowers
Textured painting of cascading white flowers with hints of gold and green, densely arranged in a horizontal band across the top. Below, the flowers trail downward in vertical drips, creating a sense of movement and bloom. The background features vertical gray and white streaks, adding depth and contrast. A thin gold frame surrounds the canvas, and the artist’s signature appears in the bottom right corner. The composition evokes fluidity, elegance, and organic transformation.

I hadn't heard this before.
As I said in my article, she deserves respect for going vegan, but I only wish she'd used her platform to urge others to go vegan more than she did.
Even in her 'Famous Last Words' Netfix interview - her BIG CHANCE - she didn't mention veganism once. Very disappointing🙁

“Humane meat” is a myth.

The Omnivore’s Deception is a searing takedown of the meat economy - from factory farms to free-range facades.
A must-read for anyone exploring vegan ethics, animal rights, and the moral truth behind food.

Book cover for The Omnivore’s Deception by John Sanbonmatsu. A large kitchen knife with a dark wooden handle is positioned diagonally across a solid red background, its blade pointing toward the top right. The subtitle reads: “What We Get Wrong About Meat, Animals, and Ourselves.” A quote from Marc Bekoff at the top praises the book as a masterpiece. The design is bold and provocative, suggesting a critical exploration of meat consumption, animal ethics, and human identity.
