We started using a next branch on git. Is there a way to prevent the branch being removed/deleted when merged to main?

Apparently it was an issue with gcr. Kaniko is back, after I worked all day to refactor to simple Docker build. :(

GitLab dropping support for kaniko really bit us in the ass this morning. All builds failing. Now we get to spend the day scrambling to implement podman to build containers in our CI/CD pipelines.
