Even wilder still that he was vacationing in Greece after reportedly giving his full-throated support for slashing funding for weather forecasting.

Texas’ junior senator was visiting Greece Friday when the Texas flood turned deadly. Cruz, who did not return until Sunday night, communicated with officials from Athens.

Near Greece's Kalamata, a 67-year-old opened fire on a vehicle carrying a Roma family, including a 9-month-old child, in what EfSyn calls a "savage racist attack."

No one was injured, and the alleged attacker was arrested for attempted murder.
