As for Can/US, the Liberal party in Canada is right of center and the US Democratic party is a little farther right than that. Canada has the NDP party, which is a left of center party. The NDP usually suffer from first past the post voting. The US doesn't have a left of center party.

I think the biggest weakness in Can/US politics is the lack of a strong 3rd party, supported by a truly democratic voting process.

Yes! No one person should have that much wealth. It’s more than anyone, including heirs, can ever spend. Greed of this nature is heinous, especially when so many are suffering.
