Eyebrook reservoir: today’s juv American Golden Plover was interesting, but rather drab compared to the 350+ Eurasian Golden Plover it accompanied.
Mullion Cove: preferring the cliff edge thorn bushes, this Steppe Grey Shrike was a star bird, often venturing within 25m to chase bugs & a Dunnock.
Colliford Lake, Cornwall: Another sighting of a juv Baird’s Sandpiper, in Cornwall this year. It preferred the W shore near the dam, often with Ringed Plover. One of a few thru’out Britain this autumn.
Scilly: a confiding Ring Ouzel, close to St Mary’s airfield access road. A local cat sat observing!
Scilly: This Rosy Starling, at Old Town, had to tolerate a few jabs before moving on.
Scilly: what’s not to like about viewing an imm Common Rosefinch at 100m as it forages on Porthellick beach with a few Chaffinch’s.
Scilly: a blue-headed Flava wagtail, by the riding stables on St Mary’s this afternoon, often followed the big horse around the paddock
Scilly: Mourning Dove, in between raiding the chicken pen, in the hedge by St Agnes cricket pitch
Scilly: Hoopoe resting-up on Periglis beach, St Agnes, after a busy day chasing local flies.
Scilly: another take on the juv Spotted Sandpiper grubbing & stretching that’s residing at St Warna’s Cove, St Agnes, overlooking Bishop’s Rock lighthouse & the Atlantic ocean.
Scilly: enjoy every Turtle Dove whilst you still can. This juv had discovered the chicken pen at Troy Town farm, St Agnes.
Scilly: a lingering juv Spotted Sandpiper sorting thru a plastic strewn beach on St Agnes this morning.
The Gwithian Red-necked Phalarope doing what it knows best. Just a fabulous tiny thing, on its way to winter off Peru; or it could even be Saudi Arabia?
Rame Head: 1 of 2 adult Long-tailed Skua, with a pale & 2 dark juv’s, accompanying a sizeable passage of Terns this morning
Siblyback Reservoir: the 2 juv Pectoral Sandpiper associating, in the muddy inlet, seems to be their favour area to forage. Most of the Dunlin & Ringed Plover have now moved on.
Colliford resservoir: what looks like an adult & 2 juv Buff-breasted Sandpipers were a joy to watch. They accompanied 30+ Ringed Plovers, a young Dunlin & a juv Inland Sanderling.
Millbrook Lake: moulting adult Semi-palmated Sandpiper roosting with the regular Redshank flock at HT this morning. The soon dispersing waders, to the vast mudflats of nearby St Johns lake, also took this petit stint with them. Hopefully it will follow them back here with the next HT.
Siblyback: is having a good run of waders, with this juv Baird’s Sandpiper, a juv Pectoral Sandpiper, 2 Curlew Sandpiper, 7 Common Sands, a few Dunlin and many Ringed plover, 11 Snipe & 4 Ruff. Not even the wind & torrential showers could affect the day!
Hi Andy, Baird’s Sand reported at 16.40. Hopefully you were able to connect with Baird’s / Pectoral Sand. I was sodden from earlier downpours so retreated by 16.00.
Siblyback Lake: juv Pectoral Sandpiper, viewed from the N, muddy, inlet of the reservoir. Sadly, I wasn’t quick enough to get a pic of the nearby juv Baird’s Sandpiper before the waders up and went for 1/2 hr. Only a few pf the birds returned, including this Pec, but not the Baird’s. Maybe later?
Hi Andy, yes, juv at 13.30. Flock of Dunlin and RP flighty. Looking to relocate. Will update again

Hi Andy, yes, stunning bird. Pleased we both have mostly never-ending, successful missions, all over place. Will make myself known if you’re about.
Rutland Water: down by the dam wall, a juv Grey Phalarope surfing the edge
