Everything and I mean everthing in this universe constantly tries to find an Equilibrium. Often with consequences.

This has a nice Dahli vibe.

Super! En met natuurgetrouwe kleuren.

Where's Waldo (the radiolarian) spiky fall diatom bloom edition! Can you find the radiolarian in this image? Remarkably... I can! Over a decade of training here for that 😅. Good luck! #protistsonsky 🦑
Microscope image of a plankton sample with a diatom bloom (maybe Asterionellopsis?) and a single radiolarian somewhere in there.

It's quite extraordinary you spotted this beauty. Great photos!

We also saw this ~ 1 cm wide baby octopus in a tidepool! Look at HOW BIG the sand grains are in these photos! It was so damn cute 🥹 Probably (but uncertainly) a recently hatched two spot octopus, Octopus bimaculoides. 🦀🦑
A baby octopus in a tidepool; it's light tan with many visible chromatophores. Its tentacles are wrapped around backwards, and it's sitting between a couple of mussel shells. NASA Galaxy Evolution Explorer maakte deze bijna-ultraviolette opname van Messier 101 op 20 juni 2003.

Messier 101 is een groot spiraalstelsel op 20 miljoen lichtjaar van de aarde.

So there must be a source of excess nutrients, which feeds this Sargassum bloom. Find and take away/minimise the source and presto. Wouldn't it be a temporary option to harvest these sargassum and use the good stuff stored within the seaweed? I mean it must be packed with useful nutrients etcetera.

Check it out:

Our Communications Team made an amazing video about the Quadra Island Bioblitz that we ran last year.

It’s a really nice overview of how and why we do bioblitzes...

Tintinnina! These little ciliates have beautiful ‘cups’ called loricae.

That is a really nice video you made! Like the marine bivalve you posted before. Here is a freshwater Tintinnid. This particular one does not extend out of its shell as much though.
