I've often wondered how the following years might have been different had Schumi not won. Would Kimi have continued in F1 long term and switched to Ferrari had he won in 2003? Would Michael have retired when he did? What about Juan Pablo?

Motorsport "what ifs" are fascinating.

Imagine if Laurens Vanthoor switched to BMW. We could have a car with two Vanthoors and two van der Lindes.

Or, a van der Linde and a Vanthoor in two cars. In the same race. 🤯

If I don't VPN I get reasonably regular ads. The VPN solves that for me.

When I cast this to my TV it lags and buffers horribly :(

Frustrated by ads on the IMSA YouTube broadcast?

Easy to fix. Simply VPN to Andorra. Problem solved! (Seriously.)

Yep exactly. And if Proton do enter two 963 into WEC (big if, but...), there'll be two Porsches in Hypercar anyway.
peoakley.onlyendurance.com
Yeah I don't believe that. There'll be space on the grid and it would end a run of Porsche racing in every single race in WEC history in the GT classes. Plus, Porsche are introducing an Evo update. Surely WEC will want that on the grid.

There's a story in that last sentence and I'd like to hear it...

Proton Competition wouldn't comment on their absence from the 2026 IMSA GTP entry list... 👀

Evo's headline may well be wrong here.

I very much think this is what's happened.

I'm not terribly surprised either. Can't imagine Porsche would want to miss Le Mans next year given it has a car capable of competing for the overall win.

You'll likely have heard about Porsche's withdrawal from WEC next year. However, right now, there are more questions than answers about what this might mean for the future...

With the state of the auto industry and the packed grid it was always going to happen at some point. Didn't expect Porsche to be the first to fall though.

Yeah Porsche have not been happy with the BoP methodology in WEC this year. It probably isn't the reason - the main reason for quitting is almost certainly money and declining EV sales forcing a strategy switch - but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a contributing factor.

If I was writing a headline for this, it would absolutely be "Alex Dunne crashes out of McLaren driver programme".

Need the Greens and the Lib Dems to come good and fight off the racists. I think that's our only hope now if we don't want Farage as PM.

Typical that the @fiawecofficial.bsky.social race was a total banger and I'm away with no ability to watch it. Oh well. I'll watch it later this week and maybe write about it as well.
