Mostly moths, but then there'll be leafmines and bees and craneflies and..... well, easily distracted by wildlife.

Brick, December moth, Turnip and a very worn spider preyed Orange Sallow😊 also 7 Feathered Thorns so a good night πŸ‘ #teammoth
No problem, Les. I can't see it can be anything else, but the nearest records are a good way away, so it would be best to have Robs view. πŸ‘
I thought something like that too!! Always look as i pass this hedge but never with any real expectation! πŸ˜„
Mine on Purging Buckthorn at baggeridge, pretty sure it's Stigmella catharticella, which might be new to Staffs if it is! @vc28nature.bsky.social could you check for me please Rob. #teammoth
We've only got a few here at baggeridge, forgotten they were here till bumped into one last week, just coincided with looking at alder mines on the leafminers uk, so seemed positively remiss not to take a look 😁
Yes its a pointier looking leaf too for want of a better description!
πŸ˜‰ well, you say that, but I know you'll now have your eye open for Grey Alder 😁
Nice new mine today, Phyllonorycter strigulatella on Grey Alder. New one for me and new record for Baggeridge πŸ™‚ #teammoth
Spent a lot of time last year checking for an anal comb! Tricky little blighters when you're trying to photograph their bums πŸ˜„
Opened up a Teasel head in the garden, no larva but full of frass in the centre. Endothenia gentianaeana I suspect, which will be NFG. Need to open up the other heads to double check. Plant it, and they will come 😊 #teammoth

Looks like it ought to be heating a factory unit! 😁
Needs to get under the microscope for a better look, but I might have Stigmella atricapitella on Oak. Egg underside, looks like it has dark "prothoracic sclerites"? Only one found today with somebody home. Leafmining in Endon, takes me a while to clear mum in-laws path of leaves!! 😁 #teammoth
Blimey, that's quite a piece of work !!
Ended up with 24/8 last night Mottled Umber,8 Feathered Thorns, a Merv, and Vines Rustic. 4 Yellow line Quakers, but they were all a bit washed out. It was just a single LBAM in the home trap mind, rest were all at baggeridge #teammoth
I've let them know, but its not exactly a complaint, new moth, so I can't complain, worth 75p 😁
It's in a pot and already burrowing into a slice of wholemeal πŸ‘ if it turns out to be Indian meal moth, it'll be a new one for me. Technically I guess its a record for wherever the bread was packed, but I'll take it. like the colony of kuehniella we had in the baggeridge office. In the Hen feed bin😊
They picked the right person to sell a catterpillar loaf to 😁 this will be my second supermarket moth ( time for another list) the first was a crimson speckled that crawled out of a bag of coriander 😊
Anyone know their meal moth caterpillars ? Just opened a loaf of bread to find this little fella, thinking it might be Indian Meal moth?
Going to keep it fed on wholemeal and see if I can rear it. Suppose I ought to make a complaint, but well, it could be a new moth for me. #teammoth
Two new records for Baggeridge Stigmella samiatella on Chestnut and Stigmella salicis on Sallow.😊 #teammoth
Considering a patent on my idea of actinic headlights, niche marlet perhaps, but just think of all the mothing potential πŸ˜„
I've managed a few singles this year in the garden which is promising.
Might remain "just" a Juniper Carpet, but I'll be happy with that. Gets me ready for tomorrow night's swarms of African Migrants 😁
Seriously nice trapful 😊
