Two Lego Sets, 10305 Lion Knight's Castle, and 40567 Forestmen Hideout... They're very nice... but can I make classical Castle sets with them? Follow me and I'll share three + one I already shared last year.
Welcome to the NHK 19-20

I'm at the part of Welcome to the NHK where I'm only confident I remember like... one episode of the next 4... it's been a while since I last watched this.
While I'm namedropping Helldivers in my anime thread... every so often I bring up Bounty Dog, I've had A Helldivers/Bounty Dog idea on my mind for a while...
Welcome to the NHK 15-18
Something a bit more light hearted... Fantasy Video games and Multi Level Marketing schemes...

I paused halfway to play some Helldivers 2 with some folks and had the whole internet videogame thing on my mind while in the chat.
Welcome to the NHK 14
That ends the arc. Part of me is planning to continue, and the other part of me is like... what an excellent pause point. I got online to talk about it, but went and wrote those thoughts somewhere else and now I'm having trouble seeing to write because I made myself cry.
Welcome to the NHK 11-13

I paused one episode shy of finishing the Island (Off) arc. Just felt like a good stopping point tonight.

This piece from me about how as a millennial, housing anxiety haunts me, and I can't get enough haunted house stories. WITH incredible @meowwwls.bsky.social freelance illustration; such a joy to work with and got me and this piece INSTANTLY.

That is a great discovery... I wouldn't mind seeing this again, I never would have found it since I hadn't ever thought to open Viki.

Thanks.

Random discovery:

Viki’s been out of the anime game for over a decade now, but for some reason they still have the rights to OZMA. Never got an EN home video release and CR’s stream expired years ago, so if you’re desperate to see Matsumoto’s last anime, Viki it is.

Huh... I forgot to write 4 instead of 3 yesterday, no matter.
Welcome to the NHK -10
This honestly feels like it could be the rising crescendo middle of the show.
I can't say anything without spoiling the plot thread so... I like this show... so very much, go find out what episode 10 is yourself.
Back to that swearing in Welcome to the NHK. I can listen to it without wincing at almost 40 years old, and even laugh when it happens... I've gotten over my ingrained fear of swearing over the years after all the sermonizing and threats of punishment as a kid. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnDR...

I came out of homeschooling very lonely, and didn't adjust well in college, Rozen Maiden and Haibane Renmei were my tether shows. My Homeschooling parents probably weren't trying to make hikikomori anime the closest thing I would have to a relatable experience. www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4a6...

Welcome to the NHK was one I was vaguely familiar with pretty early, but got around to kinda lateish... watched it in 2011/12, and bought it in 2017/18. It's not one that I think everyone would like, but it appeals to me for similar themes that Rozen Maiden, or Haibane Renmei also handle.
So I was like, if my mom won't even accept the nice things I can find, I'll stop looking for things she'll appreciate.

That's when I went off and watched Hellsing... that's right... I showed my Mom Clannad the Movie, she didn't like it, so I was like... okay then... next up I'm goin with Hellsing.
Early on in my anime hobby I learned that some people will find the smallest thing to nitpick and toss the whole thing. I showed my Mom the Clannad Movie, she hated it; Sunohara got hit in the face and had a bloody nose; too violent. I was like, hello MOM? I grew up with allergies and bloody noses.

Tangent time: who wants to go to bed... who me? Know, I mean, NO... but soon.

In College I was very chaste with my anime choices like a good homeschool boy should be, I'd been watching Scrapped Princess (a very clean show) and one of my roommates went to get the RA and complain that it was lewd.
Welcome to the NHK 2-3
and there I shall have to stop.
When I first started collecting anime I had pretty tight limits on the sorts of things I'd allow, and one such thing was no swearing in the dub. I collected this one 11-12 years after I started my collection, so I dropped that rule at some point
I've watched very very few Japanese live action movies... and even fewer twice.

the twice list
Japanese Girls at the Harbor (1933)
House (1977)
Boogiepop and Others (2000)
I'll keep this movie off my anime viewing thread

Boogiepop and others (2000)

I'll say this for it... it's kinda weird that I own this, and even more weird that I've watched it a 2nd time... Boogiepop has some kind of aura about it I guess. I figured, I've rewatched the anime today, might as well.
I think I've warmed up to Boogiepop Phantom a lot. 6-12 completed. I took practically no time at all to rewatch it.

It's hard for me to accurately say what's going on, but something about the stream of circling events is compelling, and though I never know what Boogiepop is, I've come to like it.
Last night I ended up watching a war movie as one of my friends is a bit of a war history enthusiast and we passed a film and he said... they made a movie about this? and I said I'll skip Star Trek for this.

(1956)
"The Battle of the River Plate/Pursuit of the Graf Spee"
Boogiepop Phantom 1-5

I remember hating this show the first time I saw it, and liking it the 2nd time I saw it, now I'm watching it for a 3rd time. This show has grown on me each time I watch it every 5 or so years apart. I wouldn't call it a favorite, but it has a certain vibe I crave in my faves
Resuming Urusei Yatsura 55-58.
I'm using a guide that suggests some of the last episodes next... so I paused again. I tend to go back and forth on how well I like the individual episodes of this show, but I think every one of these four were very fun. I especially liked the Tokugawa McDonalds
I of course have a real soft spot for Galaxy Express 999: which is suddenly faced with the realization that Queen Millennia is far far beyond it.

I also have a real soft spot for Queen Emeraldas... only 2 of 4 episodes available. : I could watch QE 1 and 2 over and over and over again... cuz I do.
