🚨 PSA for #PHP package maintainers: DO NOT REPLACE tags! If you messed up a release simply do another. No matter how quickly you notice a mistake, automatic tools already pulled the original tag, triggered automatic updates. Users will never know you recreated the tag and use the broken state. #phpc

Over the past year and a half Ryan Weaver put up an incredible fight against his GBM diagnosis. You've likely followed his very technical updates and passion for research even on a topic as awful as this disease.

This week he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family. There aren't words for how deep this loss is for me, for our son, Beckett, and really anyone who had the chance to meet him.

Please help me in joyfully remembering Ryan at a celebration of life service on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at WildWood Family Farms at 7970 Snow Ave SE, Alto, MI 49302. (Families with children welcome)

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ryan's memory to his son's educational and custodial funds through GoFundMe.

Ryan has brought a lot to PHP, through his hard work, his always friendly manner and his vision. He's an example to many of us. He leaves us with tons of code he wrote and shared in open-source for at least 15 years, which we'll continue to develop with him in mind.

Such sad news. An amazing contributor and a wonderful showman, he helped me learn symfony, create amazing features and debug countless situations.
2 years ago I had the chance to see him at an API Platform Conference—he was the embodiment of joy and enthusiasm.
