It is November, and I'm in the north of England. Yet, astonishingly, a passion flower hangs from an archway in the garden.
Faintest smudge of rainbow.

Amy continues to whip up a storm with her wind, so it's not a good day for walking. Meanwhile, here are some reflections on what nature means, inspired by some extraordinary stories.

In any home, design choices at the front door convey important messages to visitors.

Our hallway says, “We are judging you.”
Beautiful!
Cast a load of verbena and fennel seeds this September, great colour combos, long flowering and hardy. Love how luminous the Verbena gets in its final month or two!✨
Some people like to talk Blackpool down. But anyone who does has clearly never been to Stanley Park.

For Alban Elfed (Mabon, autumn equinox), I crafted a twisted willow wreath from fresh tree cuttings. A circle with lines for the balance of this moment, and a deep shadow cast by bright sunshine. /|\ #druidsky #witchsky #pagansky
After a day of heavy rain, streams are bursting their banks. This is a usually a woodland, not a swamp.
I love the geometric patterns of electricity pylons, especially contrasted with the twisting organic shapes of tree branches. Walking in the drizzle yesterday, the overhead wires were buzzing with sound, providing a rhythmic undertone to the evening calls of nesting birds.
Blustery walk with the dog along the prom this evening. But the roaring grey sea and salmon streaked sky were spectacular.
Saturday baking: malted chocolate brownies. I love this recipe by Claire Saffitz. They take forever, but they are worth the wait.

Mini tour of our seaside garden. Enjoy!
The Ridgeway is a wonderful path. Whereabouts were you on it?
