This is exactly what happened to Democratic strongholds during the 2024 election. Whatever happened to the investigation into those threats and how many people chose not to vote as a result?
What? Being an Independent doesn't exclude you from voting for whoever you want or participating in any process you want - surprisingly they can do exactly what you're telling them to do without the Democrat or Republican brand. Why do you limit yourself so?

Yes, it's been a problem - but this is an unprecedented scale of corruption and attack on our governmental and legal institutions. I haven't lost faith in our checks and balances, but I am losing faith in a political desire to strengthen them.
CNN is indicating that the Trump administration will not pull from other sources to fully fund SNAP in November. Instead, they will pay 50% benefits in November. Does that mean the emergency resources only had enough to support 50% for one month? If not, where is the rest of the money?

Fixing this should be a priority of our elected officials if there is ever the chance again - it's not going to happen while the Republicans control the legislative and executive branches, and while there is a questionable judicial branch.
That's correct. Most of us were not prepared for the unlikely election of an obviously corrupt and immoral individual gaining the office of the POTUS or being reelected. The extent of his criminal misuse of our governmental agencies and legal systems really became apparent in the last four years.
