Can you imagine if we had actually learned this in grade school? The Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria were manned by a genocidal maniac. Instead we all learned cutesy rhymes about them and had it drilled into our heads that the land wasn’t claimed until it was discovered by a white man.
