I'm not fluent in DNS speech, so everytime I need to touch it I'm scared of breaking something.

Thankfully, pasting some screenshot inside of claude.ai, I got a nice explanation of the flow of my emails, and realized they were never touching my registrar.

Just realized I have been paying ~70€/year from my registrar for a mailbox I wasn't even using (all mails where intercepted at the DNS MX level already).

As for the 100+, I have actually been doing that for years, across various companies, and as a meetup organizer. It doesn't seem much at first, but after a few years the numbers quickly add up.

"Special character", "Machine-readable".

How am I supposed to know how a machine reads my passport? I can tell you what my name is, and how it is written on my passport, but I'm not a machine and I have no idea how one will read it...

It's 2025. Machines can read a "é" without exploding.

#DevFestNantes reminded me how much I love sharing on stage 🎤

So I'm already working on the abstract of another talk

Before I submit to CFPs, I'd love your honest feedback on the abstract. What resonates? What's missing?

Subject, Story, Slides, Speaker: les 4S d'un talk réussi

Combien de fois avez-vous quitté un talk en ayant l'impression d'avoir perdu votre temps ?
Titre accrocheur, mais contenu hors sujet, débit monotone, ou simple énumération de faits sans fil conducteur…

Après avoir donné des dizaines de présentations et accompagné plus de 100 personnes de tous niveaux, j'ai identifié un pattern : les talks réussis reposent sur 4 piliers fondamentaux:
Subject : Choisir un sujet qui vous intéresse et résonne avec votre audience
Story : Transformer des concepts techniques en histoire captivante
Speaker : Gérer votre stress et prendre du plaisir à être sur scène
Slides : Créer des supports visuels qui aident votre message sans le noyer

Chaque pilier sera illustré par des exemples concrets et des erreurs courantes à éviter. Que vous soyez débutant·e ou confirmé·e, vous repartirez avec une checklist actionnable pour préparer votre prochain talk et monter sur scène avec confiance.

How often did you leave a talk feeling like you wasted your time? Catchy title, but off-topic content, monotonous delivery, or just a dry list of facts with no storyline…
After giving dozens of presentations and coaching over 100 people at all levels, I've identified a pattern: successful talks rely on 4 fundamental pillars:
Subject: Choose a topic that interests you and resonates with your audience
Story: Transform technical concepts into a captivating narrative
Speaker: Manage your stress and enjoy being on stage
Slides: Create visual aids that support your message without drowning it
Each pillar will be illustrated with concrete examples and common mistakes to avoid. Whether you're just starting out or already comfortable on stage, you'll leave with an actionable checklist to prepare your next talk and step up with confidence.

Second one to become officially "frozen" is gamemaster.pixelastic.com/maps/, a searchable list of 27k+ maps posted on r/dndmaps.

Again, I can't keep it up to date because of restrictions on Reddit APIs, so it is now frozen in place.

I'm a little sad to see this UI go to waste, as it was IMO a great way to browse through all the amazing content published by redditors on a topic they love. And the default Reddit search is crap for that.

This one was a way to search into all posts from www.reddit.com/r/TerrainBui..., with pictures, in a big infinite scroll way.

I had been using it a lot, to browse for inspiration when building my own terrain. Data is now frozen as what it was in December 2022.

I am officially deprecating a few websites I built 3 years ago.

They were all depending on me getting data from the Reddit API (and its little sister: pushshift) but as this has now been closed, it's time I officially end them.

Recently I've started playing #BaldursGate3 again, and I documented it at bg3.pixelastic.com.

This will give you a glance at how I play videogames. My ADHD and creative mind means I hunt exploits, glitches and other edge cases for fun. No mods, latest patch.

I stacked crates so high I hit an invisible wall.

I managed to smuggle Sussur Bloom flowers out of the Underdark, radiating an aura of anti-magic around.

I could bring Sovereign Glut, and his Bulette companion to the Overworld

And I did crash my game a few times
